How do I communicate with my child's early years provider on TeachKloud?
Each child has a profile and timeline on TeachKloud. Parents can leave comments, ask questions and edit certain parts of their childs profile. Parents only have access to their child's profile and information.
What are Checklist observations?
Child observations are based on developmental milestones. These are generated on TeachKloud according to your child's age. Every child is unique and develops at their own pace, developmental observations are guidelines and provide generalised benchmarks at each stage of the developmental cycle. Always speak to your child's early years provider or ask questions on your child's profile and timelines if you have any questions.
What are learning stories?
Learning stories are a form of documentation of your child's learning, they can include written text, pictures, videos, conversations, paintings and much more. Learning stories allow your childs teachers to show children's abilities and interests through storytelling.
According to Aistear, the Irish Early Childhood Curriculum Framework, documentation of children's learning can be used by teachers to celebrate progress and achievement and plan the next steps in learning. Documentation also enables the adult and/or children to share information with parents. This can help parents to build on children’s out-of-home experiences while at home, and so make learning more enjoyable and successful. In the case of some children, documentation provides critical information in helping to identify special educational needs, in putting appropriate supports in place, and in reviewing the impact of these interventions" (Aistear, 2009).
What are accidents?
Serious accidents are rare in early years settings but even minor accidents will be documented by your child's early years provider. They will have specific information on the incident and who was involved. This can then be sent to you by your child's teacher for review on TeachKloud.
Where is my child's information stored and how secure is it?
Your protection, security and peace of mind is our highest priority! TeachKloud is hosted with Digital Ocean in London.
Is my information private and who has access to it?

The administrator can review, control, delete and decide what information is uploaded and who has access to it. Passwords used to access TeachKloud are all encrypted.
